Niall cut his teeth in the Hospitality industry 25 years ago working as a ranger in some of South Africa’s best-known private game reserves.
After several years working for other safari lodges, Niall was part of the management team at Kirkman’s Kamp in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve when it became part of the &Beyond portfolio.
Not long after joining &Beyond Niall was seconded to the &Beyond operations in Kenya running both &Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp and &Beyond Bateleur Camps in the Masai Mara for a period of four years.
Niall’s next posting was in Tanzania, where he was appointed Regional Manager and later Regional Director, overseeing the Andbeyond’s seven lodges in Kenya and Tanzania, as well as island operations in Zanzibar.
Apart from experiencing some of the world’s most iconic wildlife areas, Niall’s career highlights during his time in East Africa were spending time getting to know the local culture and watching local Kenyans and Tanzanians grow into senior management roles under his leadership. Other highlights included driving the innovation and creativity around delivering world class guest experiences.
Niall is currently the &Beyond Chief Operating Officer, responsible for ensuring the commercial success of all &Beyond lodge operations in Africa, as well as for the development of new business opportunities on the continent. He continues to drive &Beyond’s brand standards, as well as product and guest experience strategy. His portfolio also includes the responsibility for &Beyond’s Vision 2030 Impact strategy and goals, also supporting the company’s lodges in Asia and South America.
